Turkey and Georgia plan to strengthen strategic and economic cooperation within the framework of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project in order to increase imports and exports. The parties discussed the potential for attracting new cargo within the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) project.
At the end of the meeting, the memorandum of cooperation was signed by Lasha Akhalbedashvili, Director of GR Logistics and Terminals, and Mehmet Altinoz, Head of the ,,TCDD’’ Logistics Department.
As part of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) project, the parties to the memorandum see the potential to transport one million tons of cargo per year in the short term and 3-4 million tons per year in the medium term. The parties will also discuss the development of a combined freight route (rail + sea) in the future.
Within the framework of the visit, a memorandum of cooperation was also signed between GR Logistics and Terminals, a subsidiary of JSC Georgian Railway, and ,,Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik’’, a multidisciplinary logistics company.
